Net Natives were brilliant. Using their social media expertise, creativity and marketing skills, they created an amazing Facebook website that really inspires our whole audience of young people, parents, guardians and employers
Youth Employability
NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training) are arguably those who most need help, support and advice regarding learning and career opportunities, but without the connections and support lines gained from work or college, it can be difficult for them to see what’s out there.
Youth Employability Service Brighton and Hove, formerly (Connexions), have been working hard to address this, ensuring these disengaged young people can now access as much information and guidance as possible through a number of free drop-in centres across Brighton.
They knew they provided a great service, but needed help engaging their relevant online audience. We knew we could help by building a Facebook website to both attract and engage Brighton’s NEETs, who were likely to spend much of their time on Facebook. We didn’t want to waste any time supporting this fantastic cause, so we got straight to work.
To best promote Youth Employability’s opportunities and advice, we needed to create an interactive and engaging website with easily-accessible information, tips and contacts. It would also act as the primary communication portal between the staff at Youth Employability and those who needed their help and wanted to find out more.
With such a vast array of help to offer, we also wanted to make sure the website was completely user-friendly and clearly structured, allowing the right people to see the right service.

First, we got to grips with the website’s target audience: the NEETs who Youth Employability work hard to support, their parents or carers wanting to see how they can help too, and the employers interested in taking on bright young people. We created separate pages within the website for each group, helping users navigate around the site and see the relevant information.
But that’s not it. Our brilliant Content Management System (CMS) enables the people behind Youth Employability to log in and update the website’s content, key messages and promotions, ensuring every opportunity available to Brighton’s NEETs is seen by them.
Youth Employability’s Facebook website is a phenomenal success. With the ability to provide updates, advertise career opportunities and answer enquiries, they can now fully engage with their audience and ensure the help they can offer reaches as many young people as possible.
“In line with our budget restrictions and to keep costs down, we took the radical step to do away with our clunky website and instead direct our clients and stakeholders to our Facebook page. Net Natives were brilliant. Using their social media expertise, creativity and marketing skills, they created an amazing Facebook website that really inspires our whole audience of young people, parents, guardians and employers. We are even able to manage and edit all content and capture user information, which is making a huge difference to better understanding this growing group. The response has been overwhelming and we’re helping more young people than ever – and this is just the start. Thank you Net Natives!”
